2018-2019 GSEA US Nationals Schedule of Events

Denver, Colorado – January 9th, 10th, and 11th 2019

The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) is the premier global competition for students who own and operate a business while attending college or university. Nominees compete against their peers from around the world in a series of local and/or national competitions in hopes to qualify for GSEA Finals. Founded in 1998 by Saint Louis University, GSEA is now an Entrepreneurs’ Organization program.

As part of the 2018-2019 U.S. National Event, state champions from over 30 U.S. universities will be pitching their businesses for $10,000 and a trip to Macau, China to compete in the Global Finals as our U.S. student representative. Press inquires can be directed to travis@travisluther.com.

DESCRIPTION: EO is full of amazing talent, and we’re lucky to have some of the best EO member speakers attending this year’s GSEA Nationals to welcome our students and the country to Denver. Come and enjoy lunch, meet our students, and listening to the following keynote speakers:

Travis Luthertravis luther denver law father msu: 2:00pm-2:15pm – Travis is the EO Chair for the National GSEA.org competition and a member of EO Colorado. An entrepreneur as well, Travis is the Founder of Queen Anne Pillow Company and Law Father Legal Media. Travis is a former Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at MSU Denver and currently serves as Entrepreneur in Residence to the University of Colorado Denver. He is a frequent lecturer on the topics of College Entrepreneurship and Brand Storytelling.

Tyler Olson: 2:15pm-2:30pm – Tyler is the founder of Modern Foundation, an analytics first marketing firm. He is also a former GSEA Champion, EO Accelerator, and current EO Minnesota Member. His personal story of student turned successful global entrepreneur is a testament to the power of GSEA and Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) in fostering successful student entrepreneurs.

 

Mike Maddock: 2:30pm-3:00pm – Mike is a serial entrepreneur who has launched more than six successful companies. He is a highly rated keynote speaker and has written three books about innovation, which have been rated No. 1 on Amazon. He is a Forbes and Bloomberg Businessweek columnist, has chaired the Gathering of Titans Entrepreneurial Conclave at MIT and is the past Chapter chairman of both Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) in Chicago.

Klyn Elsbury: 3:00-3:45pm – You may have seen Klyn speak at EO Alchemy in San Diego. Born with Cystic Fibrosis, Klyn Elsbury was initially told she would not live past the age of 14. At the age of 25, she was asked to make end-of-life arrangements because she was unlikely to make it to her next birthday. Six years later, Klyn is a bestselling author, renowned speaker, and Cystic Fibrosis advocate and survivor. Her story and daily work to thrive, rather than survive, has inspired thousands who have heard her speak.

DESCRIPTION: Led by EOCO member and national trainer Lee Prosenjak, students get to experience first had the rich connections created by the EO Forum experience. DESCRIPTION: Do you love craft beer and tacos? Did you know that the Tivoli Brewery is the oldest Colorado Brewery? Come and help us welcome all of our GSEA students and national EO members as we enjoy a buffet dinner, historic brewery tours, and live music from students of the University of Colorado College of Arts and Media.

DESCRIPTION: Come and see the semi-final round, as we host over 30 GSEA state champions from all over the country. These students do not simply have business ideas, but have already launched their businesses and have some revenue or some investment. This is an amazing opportunity to see the real ideas these college entrepreneurs are already brining to life in the world!

DESCRIPTION: Come and enjoy lunch as we announce the winners of the semi-final round and the students who will be competing as US Nationals’ Finalists. Also, enjoy an amazing keynote from Deb Gabor. Deb is the founder of Sol Marketing and the author of Branding is Sex. She has led brand strategy engagements for organizations like Dell, Microsoft, NBC Universal, HomeAway, and dozens of early-stage tech and digital media titans.

King Center Recital Hall, Auraria Campus, Downtown Denver.

DESCRIPTION: It’s down to the top five winners of the semi-final round. This is THE competition for $10,000 and a trip to Macau, China to represent the United States in the GSEA Global Finals!

DESCRIPTION: This is it, the big announcement and the BIG checks – The announcement of our 2018-2019 GSEA US National Champion!
We will also enjoy a keynote by Ryan Avery, EO Colorado Accelerator Member and TV host of BreakingHistory.tv  as he discusses the collision between entrepreneurship and social good.

DESCRIPTION: It’s finally over and now it’s time to blow off some steam!
